Virology & Special Testing Program
The NH Public Health Laboratories (PHL) Virology & Special Testing Program provides testing for a variety of infectious disease agents.
The Virology & Special Testing Program provides the following testing services:
- SARS-CoV-2, Influenza, Measles, Mumps and other respiratory pathogens.
- Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
- Hepatitis A, B, and C viruses.
- Sexually transmitted disease (STD) agents including chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis.
- Maintain capacity to respond to newly emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases including Avian Influenza, Mpox, and Ebola.
Arboviral Surveillance: NH PHL plays an important role in NH’s Arboviral Illness Surveillance, Prevention and Response Plan by providing human and surveillance laboratory testing for arboviral diseases:
- Serology testing for vector-borne viral diseases including Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), Saint-Louis Encephalitis (SLE), and West Nile Virus (WNV).
- Mosquito surveillance testing for EEE virus, Jamestown Canyon virus, and WNV by molecular methods.
