Training
DHHS Quarterly Trainings on Substance Misuse
- It is strongly recommended that participants complete the Initial Training on Addiction prior to taking Families and Addiction.
- Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Certified Prevention Specialist, and Social Worker CEU's are available at no cost for both workshops.
Initial Training on Addiction
This 6-hour, introductory workshop on addiction is designed to raise awareness and understanding of the dynamics and impact of addiction on the people whom we serve. Training covers the neurological basis of addiction; mental, behavioral, emotional and spiritual dimensions; stages of change; recovery; motivational techniques and resources.
Families and Addiction
This 3.5-hour workshop explores how the addiction of the individual affects the entire family system. Special attention is paid to the effects on the children in the family and discussion centers around strategies and resources to help increase their resiliency and coping skills.

New Hampshire Board of Licensing for Alcohol and Other Drug Use Professionals
The Office of Professional Licensure and Certification (OPLC) provides administrative support to over 40 professional licensing boards, commissions and councils responsible for licensing and regulating their professions within the State of New Hampshire. The NH Board of Licensing for Alcohol and Other Drug Use Professionals resides within the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification (OPLC) and has information on requirements and application processes for Masters Licensed Drug & Alcohol Counselor (MLADC), Licensed Drug & Alcohol Counselor (LADC), and Certified Recovery Support Worker (CRSW) licensing and certification.

The Prevention Certification Board of New Hampshire
The NH Prevention Certification Board provides oversight for the process of certifying individuals as substance misuse prevention specialists. The purpose of prevention certification is to recognize and ensure that substance misuse prevention practitioners meet competency standards established by the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) and the New Hampshire Prevention Certification Board. The board also reviews and approves Continuing Education (CEUs) for Certified Prevention Specialists (CPS) for various types of training events, including workshops, webinars and conferences.
